The same holds true of training in general but it's even more powerful to apply the idea to our sports.
For example, in the case of a new program, we can't expect to get a great deal of benefit from a program on the practice floor that isn't up to par with the quality of training we do ourselves. Sure, the programs might be old, the trainers might have been replaced, or a new sport might replace the original sport.
However, unless we improve our training, we won't see benefits that we could get only through training ourselves. We will get better, that's for certain. We will get better because we've trained harder and longer, we will get better because we've trained smarter and more purposefully and through a greater range of movement. We will get better because we have more and smarter exercises to choose from. We will get better because we are a better group of people. We will get better because we are better athletes. So when we talk about beginning a new training program, we're not just talking about starting a new training program. We're talking about having a new training program. This article will provide a framework for thinking through what needs to be done in order for us to start a new training program and how to keep that program going after we leave the training room. We'll cover the components of planning what we want to do with a new training program, planning how we will do it with our training environment and how to implement the program into our training session with our athletes while still maintaining the integrity of the program.

The great benefit of the concept of starting a new training program is that it doesn't involve anything we have to do ourselves. We don't have to come up with or plan anything. That's a pretty awesome feeling, especially when we consider the number of times that in training we have to do something or have had to do something ourselves in order to get from where we are to where we want to be. So what are we really asking to begin something new? It doesn't involve anything we have to do ourselves. We don't have to come up with or plan anything; we just have to believe that it's going to happen. It doesn't involve any new equipment apart from new training jump ropes.
